NO FCRA USE. McCreary County Criminal History is privately operated and has no government affiliation. It and its advertising partners do not provide services for credit, employment, insurance, tenant, or other decisions governed by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). This is a Kentucky public-record reference, not a private investigation firm or consumer reporting agency.
1. What This Website Is
This is an independent private reference site. It neither stores official criminal records nor retrieves records, conducts official checks, or files forms for visitors.
Its role is to identify the McCreary County Sheriff, Circuit Court Clerk, Kentucky State Police Criminal Identification and Records Branch, Kentucky Sex Offender Registry, and other official sources, while also displaying optional outside search tools.
2. Rules for Using This Site
Use is conditioned on the following restrictions:
- Break any federal, state, or local law while using this site
- Use information you find here to stalk, harass, or threaten anyone
- Base hiring, housing, lending, or insurance decisions on content from this site
- Try to break into our systems or gain access you are not supposed to have
- Run bots, scrapers, or automated tools against our pages
- Do anything that slows the site down or blocks other people from using it
3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination
No information obtained here or through a linked tool may be used to harass, stalk, threaten, intimidate, or unlawfully discriminate. Kentucky Sex Offender Registry information requires special care. KRS 525.070 and 525.080 address harassment and harassing communications, and the registry exists for safety awareness rather than punishment or vigilante action.
4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency
This operator is not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA and does not produce consumer reports, credit reports, or official background checks. The same restriction applies to data reached through an advertising search tool. It may not be used to:
- Decide whether to hire or fire someone
- Screen potential renters or housing applicants
- Judge creditworthiness or set insurance premiums
- Determine who qualifies for licenses, permits, or government programs
- Do anything else that falls under FCRA rules
A legally permissible check for a regulated purpose must come from Kentucky State Police or an FCRA-compliant provider suited to that purpose.
5. No Legal Advice
The material is not legal advice. General descriptions of McCreary County records cannot determine how a charge, warrant, conviction, or expungement statute applies to one person. Consult a licensed Kentucky attorney for that analysis.
6. No Warranties
All material is offered "as is," without a promise that:
- The information here is accurate, complete, or current at any given time
- The site will stay up and running without interruptions
- Our pages are free of errors, bugs, or security holes
- Results from our partner search tools will be thorough or accurate
Charges, dispositions, seals, and expungement orders can change what a record shows. Gaps and delays are possible, and no statement here is an official declaration from a court, sheriff, or Kentucky agency.
7. Third-Party Services and Links
Links lead to government offices, court systems, legal-aid groups, and outside search services. Each destination controls its availability, content, privacy practices, and prices. Review its own terms before using it.
8. Intellectual Property
Text, logos, graphics, and code belong to McCreary County Criminal History or its content partners. Copying, distribution, modification, or derivative use requires prior written permission.
9. Limits on Our Liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, the operator is not liable for harm arising from use of the site, its information, or a linked service.
10. Indemnification
A user agrees to indemnify and hold the operator harmless from claims caused by that user's conduct or breach of these terms, including related legal costs.
11. Governing Law
Kentucky law governs these terms. Any dispute connected to use of the site must be brought in a court located in Kentucky.
12. Changes to These Terms
Revised terms may be posted at any time and take effect upon publication on this page.
13. Cutting Off Access
Access may be restricted or ended at any time, with or without advance notice.
14. Severability
If one provision is held invalid or unenforceable, all other provisions remain in force. The affected term will be narrowed only as needed.
15. Questions
Questions about these terms may be directed through the Contact page.
